The Art of Leadership Learning

The best leaders I (Cindy) know have learned the Art of Leadership as much or more than the Science of Leadership.

The Art of Leadership Learning is the intuitive piece of gaining the right skills to lead effectively.  It’s not the Science of Leadership, although that is important. It's the Art of Leadership that helps leaders continue to learn while leading and work to consistently become a better leader.

These skills enable you to see ahead further than others may see, to not only learn leadership but apply what you learn for guaranteed growth, and to consistently identify the next area - or areas - you need to grow in, to best lead the people you serve. But it doesn’t stop there!  When you engage in The Art of Leadership Learning, you duplicate leaders because you develop and grow people.

If you want the Science of Leadership, you can find that in books like 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership & The 5 Levels of Leadership.  These laws give us a roadmap and a predictable path to leadership. The science of leadership!

We also have to work on the art of leadership, which is the intuitive piece of leading. The art is the intuition, how we read the room, sensing your audience, whomever you are with, to be more effective. The art of leading is sensing what your team needs and being correct about that when you act on it. No pressure, right?!

The truth is, leadership is hard. It’s not hard because it’s incredibly complex or reserved only for a select few. It’s hard because it’s a huge responsibility to grow ourselves and be the best example we can be for the people we serve.  Anyone can lead that chooses to and I’ll share how you can gain skills by applying some foundational lessons on the Art of Leadership Learning in my upcoming messages.
