Our Mission:
Improving YOUR Profitability by Building Better Leaders!
At Dove Development & Consulting, our core values form the foundation for everything we do. By intentionally living them out each day, we create meaningful IMPACT that improves profitability by building better leaders—for our team, our clients, and the organizations we serve.
OUR VALUES
By living out these VALUES, we directly IMPACT the profitability of every individual and organization we serve!
A value you cannot witness is a claim, not a standard.
So under each of ours we have written the two halves that most values statements leave out — what you should see from us, and what you should never see. They are written as behaviors on purpose, because a behavior is the only part of a value anyone outside our office can actually observe. Hold us to both.
Intentionality
Dove Development & Consulting is intentional in everything it does, ensuring a positive difference is made daily. Wes and Cindy regularly review their workload, the clients they support, and their overall messaging to confirm that every activity aligns with their clear purpose. This discipline often means stepping away from certain opportunities to focus more deeply on those that matter most.
You should see: deliberate choices behind the things most firms leave to convenience — which of us builds a particular lesson, which of us delivers a given piece of material, which of us coaches a given person, and when each interaction is scheduled. And, when it applies, us narrowing, declining, or redirecting work that does not serve what you hired us for.
You should never see: anything in the plan because it was available, convenient, or the way it was done last time.
Measurability
The firm measures the results it helps each client achieve. Wes frequently shares the story of an HR Manager he once worked for who required measurable improvements in productivity or profitability following every training event. Profitability matters. Dove Development & Consulting only earns client trust and business by delivering tools that drive tangible increases in productivity and profitability.
You should see: every person we work with challenged to name their own action steps and their own way of measuring the return, within their own scope of responsibility — starting with Cindy’s question, “What would a win look like?”, and revisited through the engagement rather than asked once at the beginning.
You should never see: a measure that existed only at the start, or a result called a success without evidence.
People
People come first in every decision. Although both Wes and Cindy are primarily task-oriented (Cindy a high C-blend and Wes an extremely high D-blend in the DISC Model of Human Behavior), they recognize that organizations are driven by their people—not as lifeless entities, but as the key to results. By prioritizing people, the firm achieves outcomes otherwise impossible. At times, refusing to tolerate poor treatment of individuals has come at a significant financial cost, yet character is never compromised for money.
You should see: the development of individual people treated as the actual work — including people who are not the decision-maker, not the sponsor, and not the reason we were hired.
You should never see: us stay quiet about someone being treated badly in order to protect the relationship or the fee.
Action
Actions are what people see, hear, and feel. Drawing from behavior-based safety principles, Dove Development & Consulting knows that attitudes and emotions cannot be directly measured—only behaviors can. Talk is cheap. The firm strives to exemplify everything it teaches each day and takes responsibility when it falls short. When actions align with words, clients and partners can fully trust the message. As the saying goes, actions speak so loudly that words are often unnecessary.
You should see: us doing what we teach, and naming it ourselves when we don’t — and every person pressed to define the specific behaviors their coworkers will actually see them apply, not an intention to do better.
You should never see: action steps that stay abstract, or you discovering our mistake before we disclose it.
Community
The firm builds strong relationships with and between the organizations it serves. Wes and Cindy have been blessed by the deep relationships developed through their work. They cherish connections with clients who embody their own core values and find great fulfillment in connecting good people with good people. Whether through the Executive Leadership Elite Think Tank, the IMPACT Leadership Academy, public events, or personal introductions, they actively foster a leadership community where everyone grows stronger—living out Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
You should see: us connecting you to a person, an organization, or a room with no relationship to what you are paying us for — and the same thing happening for people in this region who are not clients at all.
You should never see: your relationships kept routed through us, or an introduction that serves us more than it serves you.
Together
No one makes a lasting IMPACT by themselves. This value complements Community and completes the IMPACT framework. Wes openly shares that he has never excelled at everything alone, yet he has been blessed to collaborate with remarkable people who helped achieve far more than he could independently. With Cindy by his side, their combined efforts create work that truly resonates. The same principle applies to organizations: limited resources become exponentially more powerful through collaboration.
You should see: us building associations in which your strength and someone else’s compound — the Executive Leadership Elite Think Tank being the clearest form of it since 2019: leaders from unrelated industries brought together on purpose, each one stronger for the association than they would be alone.
You should never see: us positioned as the only source of the answer, or a room assembled for its own sake with nothing coming back out of it.
The two halves under each value are not a style choice. They are what the Values pillar of the People Optimization System asks of any organization that claims a value — the sentence, one behavior people should see, and one they should never see. Same exercise, whoever is doing it.
